Marine Layer, Charles Heintz Vineyard Chardonnay Sonoma Coast 2022

Charles Heintz vineyard is one of the most lauded and awarded sites for Chardonnay in California. Though vines have been replanted due to disease, the vineyard has been in continuous use for over 100 years. Located in Green Valley, it is known for cool/cold, foggy nights and warm, sunny days, which results in a Chardonnay that is perfectly balanced between lush, golden textures and bright, saline acidity. Fermented with native yeasts in oak puncheons and aged in the same puncheons (20% new) for about 11 months before racking into steel tanks and then bottling unfined and very gently filtered.
