CVNE, or Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España, was founded in 1879 in the town of Haro, Rioja. Still operated by the same family, CVNE has evolved to become an excellent Rioja benchmark. Fun fact, its cellar was designed by Alexandre Gustave Eiffel; Without columns, the roof is supported by steel trusses, allowing for a large open space that significantly improved the management of barrels in the cellar.
The 2019 Monopole Clasico was made from -mostly- hand harvested Viura grapes from the Villalba de Rioja, gently pressed and fermented in stainless steel tanks. It is aged on its lees in neutral oak casks for a duration of 8 months.
