Birdhorse represents a vision for the future of California winemaking, a vision anchored in a passion for diversification. Corinne and Katie strive to showcase regions, varietals, and humans that have long had a presence in this industry, but have yet to been celebrated by many of its constituents.

“Heliotropes” is a nod to “heliotropism”, the ability of certain plants to redistribute their phytohormones which causes them to turn towards the sun.

95% Cinsault/5% Carignan • El Dorado County • Red volcanic soils • South facing slope • 30% whole cluster fermentation & anaerobic bag fermentation • Racked to neutral oak for 6 months before bottling
