Nicolas Reau, Attention Chenin Mechant Chenin Blanc 2021

Nicolas Réau is a natural wine producer in the Anjou sub-region of the Loire. Réau has been a seminal figure in the French natural wine movement since the early aughts and a regular participant in La Dive Bouteille. Réau is guided by the principles of Biodynamic farming in his management of 7 hectares of Cabernet Franc and Chenin Blanc vines and is a non-interventionist in the cellar.

“Attention Chenin Mechant” is made by Nicolas from fruit purchased from his former intern. The Chenin is grown organically but not certified.

Fermented with indigenous yeasts and then aged for 6 months in used oak barrel.  It is unfined and lightly filtered at bottling with no SO2 added ( <10 mg total SO2).
